About the Artist
Karen Rifas was born in Chicago and lives and works in Miami, Florida. She received her MFA from the University of Miami in 1987 and has taught at many institutions including New World School of the Arts. Rifas has an extensive exhibition record in Brazil, Republic of Panama, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, New York, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. She has been awarded a South Florida Cultural Consortium and two Florida Visual Arts Fellowships, and a residency at the De La Cruz Collection.
