University of Wynwood Job Opportunity, Operations Manager
Ever considered working for a fake university? How about a scientific lab? How about both?
University of Wynwood and Coral Morphologic are searching for qualified candidates for a full-time Operations Manager. The new Operations Manager will be someone who has a passion for organization and demonstrable experience managing budgets, projects, and events. The Operations Manager will split his/her time between the two organizations, according to a pre-determined schedule. Our shared office is located at 800 NW 7th Ave., just down the street from Garcia’s fish market on a tributary of the Miami River.

REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrable experience with organizational duties
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
Strong math skills
Facility with basic website management
Flexibility to work with two different organizations
Commitment to community-based projects
A car and a cellphone
RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCE
Fluency in Spanish
Knowledge of basic HTML
Adobe Acrobat
Apple iCal and Google Calendar
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign

Our principal projects are the O, Miami Poetry Festival, the University of Wynwood Visiting Poet Series, Jai-Alai Magazine, and Florida Precision Instrument, a bilingual publishing imprint. Coral Morphologic exists as a hybrid art-science experiment comprised by marine biologist Colin Foord and musician Jared McKay. Together, Foord and McKay present coral reef organisms as inspiring and archetypal life-forms through multi-media and site-specific artworks that transcend the traditional divide between art and science. Coral Morphologic’s work has been featured in The Miami Herald, Ocean Drive, Vice, and Nylon Magazine. In 2011 they received a Knight Art’s Challenge for their ‘Aquacultural Transformation’ project to utilize their corals to create a new iconography for the city of Miami. (web link)
