Designer Karelle Levy addressed the public at Girls’ Club, part of our Artist in Action! series of behind-the-scenes talks and demonstrations by artists. Merging concept and fiber, Levy spoke about her international upbringing in France and Sweden, her roots in performance art, her discovery of hand- and then machine-knitting, and her forays into the fashion industry. By crafting her own professional life according to her own terms, Levy has come up with an original working life, as unique as her colorful knits. She demonstrated her popular Quickie Couture program of crafting garments on the spot. Girls’ Club is offering a limited edition multiple by Levy called Shooting Star.
