WHAT
What is design? Why does design matter? The discussion continues…with the
opening reception of Inventory Archive, an exhibition that expands on Inventory’s
first two well-received design exhibitions. Check out what the buzz is about and help
inaugurate Inventory’s great new space in Miami’s iconic Security Building.

Inventory is a design exhibition that showcases limited edition/short production run
objects and stimulates conversation about design and its role in everyday life through a
series of conversations held during each exhibition. Launched in 2011 to wide acclaim,
Inventory Archive brings back and re-contextualizes the works from Inventory’s first two
exhibitions, Objects of Desire and Soul does Matter and places them within the context
of the dialog they generated. While Objects of Desire focused on the designers and their
creative process and Soul Does Matter placed the objects front and center, Archive has
dialog as its focus. In Archive, objects will be displayed alongside commentary about
them, with the goal of further promoting discussion about design.

Inventory’s new location in Miami’s Security Building is a theatrical, 5,500-square-foot
room located in downtown Miami, a perfect setting for continuing to stimulate thoughts
and conversations about design and its role in our lives.
