Drawn Together
On View May 2 - July 26, 2025
Girls’ Club Collection presents Drawn Together, a group exhibition of drawings by multi-disciplinary artists lou anne colodny, Francie Bishop Good and Jeanne Jaffe.
With backgrounds rich in experience and experiment, each of these artists find their current practice turning toward drawing as a means of expression. Brought together by a shared media, their works stand far apart in terms of subject matter, influences and execution.
lou anne colodny's colorful sky drawings pull focus to the simplicity of nature with realistic studies of cloud formations and sky scenes. These drawings take on a slower pace, and pull focus to the dichotomy of the natural world's steadfast beauty and constant flux.
In Francie Bishop Good's new body of work, line-based portraits of people and dogs are spun together with personal mementos and everyday objects, with an almost Picasso-like disregard for logic and order.
With Jeanne Jaffe's drawings, we see a surreal exploration of the psyche's yearning for transformation and connection, manifesting in collaged drawings that feature lost or incomplete figures searching for ways to grow beyond their linear limits.
