Grants at Broward Cultural Division:
County grants are available for individual practicing professional artists to assist with the creation of small, but complete, cultural projects. Projects may also include performances by or exhibitions of professional artists; arts instruction; arts intervention; healing/expressive arts; and arts integration projects that promote the development of knowledge, skills, or appreciation related to arts and culture.
Lee Wagener Gallery at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport:
The Lee Wagener Gallery offers Broward County artists an excellent opportunity to exhibit their work. Artists are selected through the Public Art and Design Program and exhibits are changed every three months. The Lee Wagener Art Gallery is located in Terminal 2 of the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. Terminal 2 is in the Departure Level, which is a pre-security, high-traffic public area.
Creative Capital You Are Your Brand Workshop:
Twenty-four Broward County artists will be selected through a Call to Artist application process, to attend the one-day, You Are Your Brand, workshop, facilitated by Golden-Globe winner and Emmy-nominated TV writer and producer Maxine Lapiduss. Hosted by Broward Cultural Division and ArtServe, Inc. and presented by Creative Capital’s Professional Development Program, the workshop will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Young At Art Museum/Broward County Library, 751 SW 121st Ave. in Davie. To be considered, Broward artists will be submitting proposals to participate in the seminar. The deadline for the You Are Your Brand application is August 26, 2013.
Participants will be chosen by a competitive review and panel selection process. In the interim, there will be a series of free informational sessions to prepare Broward’s performing and media artists, writers, musicians, dancers and visual artists for this opportunity. These brief sessions are optional and designed to guide interested applicants through the online application process.
