LegalArt hosts call for submissions of video-based work

LegalArt is currently receiving applications of video-based artworks to be exhibited and screened in a public event. In collaboration with Southernmost Situations, the exhibition and screening will showcase current and new works by national artists who work with video as medium. One work will receive an Audience Award which will be voted for on the day of the exhibition and screening, which will take place at LegalArt on May 19th, 2012.

Works will be accepted from the following categories:
-time restricted video (no longer than 10 minutes)
-continuous video loop
-video-based sculpture
-video-based installation
-video-based performance

To Apply, submit the following material:
-Name, email, address, phone number
-Artist Resume
-Artist Statement
-up to three examples of other work (jpg, pdf, youtube, vimeo or link)
-Proposed work

Proposed work must include:
-website, youtube or vimeo (direct link to the submitted work. We will not search through websites)
-up to 3 images in jpeg format, if necessary
-title
-year of execution
-length of video
-equipment and installation requirements (specify what installation requirements you will provide)
-previous screenings (if any)
-Exhibition category your proposal falls into (Time restricted, loop, sculpture, installation or performance)
-description of the piece and concept (one page max)

Guidelines:
-Please submit direct links to the video submitted. We will not look through any website in search of the submitted material.
-Artist must provide all equipment for works with particular requirements.
-All video that does not include installation requirements will be screened within a scheduled projection of works.
-Upon selection, artist must be able to transport or mail all works that cannot be sent online.
-Please send all applications online. No original works will be accepted for submission process.
