Amalia Caputo: Photo Journaling with New Media
2-day workshop: August 22/23

Registration & Payment

We are bombarding the world constantly with our own images in social media and with photographic tools such as Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook. In this workshop we will use our cell phones and computer devices to build the structure for a photo diary. Addressing issues of public vs. private and the rapid evolution of social norms on the subject, participants will gain a wider perspective using photography as a social tool.

Amalia Caputo has devoted to her career as a photo and video based artist, dealing with multiple subjects regarding mostly the body as the core of her work. She earned a Bachelor in Art and Art History from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and an MFA in Studio Art/ Photography at New York University and the International Center of Photography.

Condon,Elisabeth-Elisabeth Condon: Sketchbook Landscape
2-day workshop: June 18/19

Collage into painting. Participants will create collages with cut paper, magazines, photography and their own drawings, then adapt into a painting.

Elisabeth Condon’s collages and drawings use improvisational pours of paint, sketchbook drawings and digital projections to establish idiosyncratic compositions based on contingency. Working in oil, acrylic and ink, Condon shifts between volume and pattern, treating space like a scroll that is sectioned, then layered.
