Locust Projects has a new address

MIAMI’S PREMIER ALTERNATIVE ART SPACE, LOCUST PROJECTS, MOVES TO NEW LOCATION IN MIAMI’S DESIGN DISTRICT

New Address: 3852 North Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33127
Inaugural Reception: Saturday, March 10th, 7-10pm

Locust Projects, the alternative art exhibition space committed to providing artists the opportunity to present new ideas for over 14 years, will celebrate its move to a new location within Miami’s Design District.

An inaugural event on March 10th will feature ground-breaking new work by Miami-based painter Natalya Laskis in the main gallery, and a site-specific installation by Miami-based artist Emmett Moore in the Project Room.

The new, 5,000 square foot location is nearly twice the size as the current location and will have two galleries to fill with experimental projects by ambitious visual artists, enabling Locust Projects to offer twice as many exhibitions per year as well as more space for staff and artists. Additional space also means more room for lectures, community events, commissioned projects, internships, and educational programming so that we can better serve the community.

A special tasting menu will be provided by Locust Projects’ new neighbor, Harry’s Pizzeria and drinks by Mandarine Napoleon, Grolsch, and Societe Perrier. The event is free and open to the public.

About Locust Projects
Locust Projects is a not-for-profit exhibition space founded by three Miami artists in 1998 in order to provide contemporary visual artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas and methods without the limitations of conventional exhibition spaces. Artists are encouraged to create site-specific installations as an extension of their representative work, and Locust Projects offers them a vibrant Miami experience to develop their ideas. Locust Projects is committed to offering an approachable and inviting venue for the Miami and international art community to experience the work and meet the artists.
