Seeking Applicants to the Artist in Residency Program

The Artist in Residency Program is an opportunity for a practicing professional visual artist to receive a work studio for the purpose of creating his/her individual work, and is encouraged to work on group projects and teach his/her craft at the 11,000 square foot newly remodeled facility run by the City of Pembroke Pines.

The selected resident artist will receive:

  • Free rent on a studio space for a twelve month periodAccess to out door work space
  • Group show exhibition in gallery space
  • Opportunity to teach his/her craft for additional income in one of our classrooms
  • 24/7 access to the building
  • Use of artists lounge Inclusion in STUDIO 18 publicity, website and press releases

Eligibility
Applicants should be professional practicing visual artists and must be interested in collective art practice.

Applications
Must be sent digitally (PDF; JPG or as otherwise indicated below) to Robyn Vegas, Cultural Arts Coordinator at [email protected] and should include:

Letter of interest with a statement of purpose describing what the artist hopes to individually accomplish during the residency and their interest in working on a group project.
Resume (with complete contact information).
3 Letters of recommendation.
Representative examples of work in digital form:
5-10 images of work, JPGs, 72 dpi, with a maximum size of 1000 pixels on either side. Include corresponding image list with title, date, media and dimensions.

The selection criteria will focus on individual artistic excellence and what the candidate will artistically contribute to STUDIO 18 IN THE PINES.
