The Projects/South and FATVillage are pleased to present Rip Her to Shreds, curated by Milly Cardoso, an exhibition of works by Leah Brown, Belaxis Buil, Jahaira Rios-Galvez, Jacqueline Gopie, Donna Haynes, Colby Katz, Pamela Palma, Tina La Porta, Lani Shapton, and Jackie Tufford. Like Louise Bourgeois meets Baby Jane Hudson, these ten artists are working with fresh perspectives on themes of femininity, insanity, and mother/daughter relationships. The exhibition runs the gamut of recollections and emotions, the good and bad, the funny and disturbing aspects of unstable development. Working from complex experiences, the exhibited artists blend childhood and adulthood, memories and fantasies, the subtle and the outrageous.

Milly Cardoso has joined forces with FATVillage Projects’ Art Director, Leah Brown, for the production of Rip Her To Shreds. Ms. Cardoso is a graduate of Barry University with a degree in Photography and Art History. She is the currently the Director for the University of Miami’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Gallery as well as the University of Miami Gallery in Miami’s Wynwood Art District.
