Locust Projects looking for solo exhibitions from South Florida MFA students

Opportunity: Exhibition in Locust Projects’ Project Room in conjunction with The LAB (Locust Arts Builders)

Eligibility: Artists currently enrolled in MFA studio art programs at universities in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach counties, or residing in those counties but enrolled in low-residency MFA programs outside the region, may apply

Exhibition Dates: July 14 – August 2012, with a public opening reception: Saturday, July 14, 7-10pm

Deadline: April 21, 2012 – applications must be received by 5pm

Opportunity Description: Locust Projects is pleased to announce an open call to South Florida graduate-level artists for a solo exhibition in Locust Projects’ Project Room during the summer of 2012. We are accepting applications for solo or collaborative projects. All artists must be currently enrolled in MFA students.

Founded in 1998, Locust Projects is alternative, not for profit exhibition space dedicated to providing contemporary visual artists the freedom to experiment with new ideas without the pressures of gallery sales or limitations of conventional exhibition spaces. Artists are encouraged to create site-specific installations as an extension of their representative work and Locust Projects offers them a vibrant Miami experience to develop their ideas. Locust Projects is committed to offering an approachable and inviting venue for the Miami and international art community to experience the work and meet the artist.
