Catalog Launch and Panel Discussion to Re-Frame the Feminine

Join us in celebrating the publication of Re-Framing the Feminine, Girls’ Club’s second exhibition catalog, with a public launch and informal panel discussion about the works in the exhibition and the role of female artists using the mediums of photography and digital imaging.

Panel moderated by artist and Girls’ Club Creative Director Michelle Weinberg. Panelist include:

Re-Framing the Feminine demonstrates the varied strategies employed by female photographers to frame their experiences using the technology of film photography and digital media. Curated by Dina Mitrani, Miami-based photography curator and gallerist, Re-Framing the Feminine includes forty seven works from leading local, national and international female photographers.Its aim is to demonstrate what is particularly female in the capture and/or construction of a photographic image. The fluidity women experience as both subjects and objects in the photographic field is significant.

The 104-page, full color catalog includes an essay by the eminent photography writer and historian Vicki Goldberg, a forward by Creative Director Michelle Weinberg, curatorial statement by Dina Mitrani and poem by local writer Emma Trelles.
