Artist Kerry Phillips presentation for Artists in Action!

Miami artist Kerry Phillips talked about her process and inspiration at Girls’ Club on Friday April 15. The third Artists in Action! event of 2011, our space was packed with a really engaged audience, who enjoyed all of Kerry’s anecdotes of her farm upbringing in Texas, her travels around the world, and her artmaking techniques that range from the simplest use of masking tape or crochet yarn to giant carpet installations, piled dresser drawers, and collections of found, mended chairs. The set of oracle cards created by Kerry for collectors is available on the Girls’ Club shop page. Learn more about Kerry Phillips’ work at her website.

Next up: Miami artist Susan Lee Chun will talk with the public at Girls’ Club on Friday, May 13th.

Artists in Action! is made possible by a Broward Cultural Division Mini-Grant.
